ART FAIR

From December 2 to 7, 2025, Vangar presented a solo show by artist Lluc Margrau at UNTITLED ART Miami Beach 2025.

The solo presentation explores the relationship between space, memory, and perception, central themes in the artist's work. Through a volumetric installation of stainless steel rods connecting the displayed pieces, Margrau integrates sculpture and drawing to evoke universal visual elements. The arch, presented in forms such as vaults, domes, and niches, is stripped of its structural function and reimagined as an abstract, universal symbol. This abstraction invites viewers to interpret and connect with the work on a personal and collective level, bridging memory, imagination, and shared human experience.

The artist’s practice encompasses a wide range of media and materials, ranging from pictorial and multisensory installations filled with objects, sounds, and scents, to participatory elements, performance, voice, and poetry. Mena Guerrero began her training as a jazz singer at the Maastricht Conservatory, where she studied from 2016 to 2018. Later, in 2024, she earned a bachelor’s degree in transdisciplinary arts through the self-directed learning program at Michael Polanyi College at Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala City.

Lara Ordoñez’s work El Consultor de Bordados n.º 567 is now part of the IVAM (Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno) Collection. The piece draws on the textile tradition, proposing a re-examination of it through the lens of the present day.

To create the work, the artist used linen thread more than half a century old, completing the spinning task begun by others. The weft is made of dry-felted Mallorcan wool, a material with its own story to tell. The embroidery, taken from a booklet of embroidery patterns from the last century, uses thread and needle to record and document time, treating them as another compositional element. Finally, the support contextualises an everyday object, making it relevant by using wood from an old bed frame to generate collective memory. Thus, the wool tells its story, and the hands become the tool to do so. It is a story linked to everyday life, to rural life and to humanity.
