ABOUT
Vangar is a contemporary art gallery that opened its doors in Valencia in December 2018, with the aim of representing and promoting the work of national and international artists. The gallery has a strong commitment to emerging and mid-career artists, supporting recent creation, bringing art to new audiences and creating a bridge between museums, institutions, foundations, public and private collections.
Founded by Amalio Vanaclocha and initially inaugurated in the Ensanche of Valencia, from the beginning of 2023 Vangar moves to a new space located at 22, Pedro III el Grande, in the Ruzafa district of Valencia. In the same year, Elisa Montesinos joins the gallery team as co-director. Vangar is a member of the Valencian Association of Contemporary Art Galleries (LaVAC) and the Consortium of Contemporary Art Galleries.
The gallery and its artists have received awards and acquisitions from prestigious institutions such as the Hortensia Herrero Foundation, the Carme & Lluís Bassat Foundation, the Sorigué Foundation, the Juan José Castellano Comenge Foundation, the Kells Collection, the DKV Collection, the La Escalera Collection, the Mango Collection, the DiGood Collection, the Gandía Blasco Collection and the Generalitat Valenciana Collection.
