Maria Marchirant graduated in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She completed her training at the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych in Krakow, Poland. She also holds a Master’s degree in Artistic Production from the same Polytechnic University of Valencia.

His works and installations, characterised by the gesture of gouache, have been exhibited at Vangar, in the PAMPAM!18 exhibition, at Nau Bòstik as part of the PIAC transmedia project, and in other group exhibitions at Naves: Centre d’Innovació i Espai Rambleta, among others. She was also a semi-finalist in the 2017 TFAC grant.

Maria Marchirant’s creative processes combine the tradition of landscape painting with the recovery of direct experience in nature. She broadly relates the gesture and fluidity of painting to spaces where water is the protagonist. Flowing, flowing, emerging, drowning are images of the temporal movement to which territories and identities are subjected.

The formal “provocation” with the means of painting is a constant in her work, the artist walks between the fine line that separates chance and control of the process, between the permanent and the ephemeral, conditioned by the dispersed and uncontrollable of the objects.
