Capi Cabrera is a plastic and visual artist from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In 2011 he moved to the city of Valencia to study Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. During these years of academic training, he experimented with non-referential languages and methods of expression, researching translucent materials from industry. In 2022 he returned to Gran Canaria and began a new line of work that was linked to the primitive simplicity of his native land. His work does not seek to represent a single idea of landscape or territory, but rather, through the action of the image and its palette, to find a space for transformation and understanding of what is experienced.
Vangar dedicated the solo exhibition Salitre to him on the occasion of Abierto Valencia 2022. He has also participated in solo exhibitions such as PROOF-ERROR-COLOR, Sala de Artes Plásticas del Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2017) and collectives such as Espacio CV, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, CAAM, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, (2017). He has participated in fairs such as UVNT Art Fair, Madrid (2022); Just Mad, Madrid (2019 and 2020); Just Lisboa, Lisbon (2019); and CONTEXT Miami, Miami (2018).
In 2023 he presented his solo exhibition Arrullo at the Contemporary Art Gallery of Tenerife SAC and is preparing his next exhibition at Casa de los Coroneles, Fuerteventura.
